✱   BIO    Lorna grew up in the streets of Baldur’s Gate with a brother and a sister she loved dearly. Her father had passed in her early teen years, while her mother attempted to carry on the family business to keep them afloat. Cintale’s (working on name) had been a shop passed through generations that her mother, Alvina, did not intend to let go. There was nothing stopping her – they had a large client base, and her brother and her were older and were able to step in and help assist with making armor pieces as needed for clients to help their mother.
 
In her older teen years, Lorna quickly grew curious about the world around her, often sneaking out in the night to meet with friends to explore and get into trouble. It often felt as if there was nothing to hold her down. She felt unstoppable. At times, it was as if these friends were her other family, often closer than her regular family as tensions continued to grow as time passed and business grew harder. It often felt as if there was nothing she could do to lose how free, how happy, she felt with her friends and her life. That happiness only grew when she met Mara through her friends, a human woman she found herself completely taken by. It felt like from the moment they met, they saw the world in the same way. Their grief was the same, their hopes and dreams were the same, and Lorna fell easily.
 
For a few years, despite business starting to grow rougher, she was able to keep at peace – she had a home, a woman she loved, and a way forward. On top of that, she had a plan to leave Baldur’s Gate one day. But despite her outlook on life, a plan forward, everything seemed to crash down around her. She knew that some of her friends had links to unsavory groups in Baldur’s Gate, and despite her just passing off her nighttime activities with her friends while they broke into buildings or spied on people as just harmless fun for a few gold, she was not stupid. It was clear she was involved in something bigger. But she had never quite anticipated she was stepping on the toes of the Guild – enemies she did not want to make.

✱   BIO (cont. from left)    After a failed ‘mission’ one night with her friends, everything seemed to happen in an instant. Friends were dragged down alleys, daggers were on display, and she’d just barely gotten out with Mara. Her and Mara were able to escape, though not without a few injuries and killing someone to help Mara get to safety. Lorna thought everything was fine, that they escaped without trouble. But when two nights of no contact with Mara turned into more, Lorna traveled to Mara’s home to find it completely ransacked. There was no note, splatters of blood, and no sign of Mara. Lorna could only assume that she was taken by the Guild, after what had happened to her and her friends. Lorna only could assume that she was next. And yet, she didn’t fight or attempt to hide. Instead, she continued to travel to a familiar spot in the city that she shared with Mara almost every day… hoping somehow, Mara might have the same idea if she was free.
 
As Lorna sat on her knees, hands in the dirt, begging for a way to make contact with her friends, with her lost love, she was not greeted with either. Instead, she was greeted by an eerie presence, promising Lorna things that she desperately wanted. A chance at greatness. A chance to one day be something more than this city she called home. A chance to have her love once more. Fierna, an archdevil, offered her all of that and more, but at a cost. Lorna didn’t care the cost. She would give up her soul in order to have a chance at the life she had lost. Signing her soul away in exchange for powers to help her achieve what she dreamed of seemed like an easy feat. Even the desire that Fierna had for her to take souls in her name was doable if it meant having her life back.
 
She promised herself she would not change, that she would not allow her patron’s pact to change her outlook on life. But as she caused destruction, claiming souls for Fierna, it changed the way she viewed life. She swore she would get back at the guild, but she knew she needed more sway. She needed to find a way to get back at them. And so, she continued her life in Baldur’s Gate, working innocently at a leather shop by day before disguising herself and taking souls by night. As she lived and worked, she attempted to search for information on her lost love, though she imagines her dead. Her patron tells her she is still out there, constantly dangling the future Lorna wants right in front of her.

✱   BIO    Born into a small village in the northeastern part of the High Forest, Arden was surrounded by nature. From a young age, she was playing in creeks and small ponds and attempting to learn the different ways she could use the elements around her. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father was a sword for hire who was often not home in an effort to be able to bring back coin to provide for Arden in order to feed her and clothe her. Her father left her in the hands of a druid family who took her in and helped raise her and become closer with nature. She never felt the exact same connection as the family she was with, but she still attempted to learn. She could not grasp certain concepts or certain connections that they had, but their daughter, Alora, often taught her how she meditated and offered herself to her god, Mielikki.
 
Arden, at her younger age, never fully tried to connect with their god, but never renounced them, either. She supported the druid family and stayed with them often, her father only coming back once every few weeks to a month. When he stopped returning, Arden returned to her father’s home as she was a bit older, and began living on her own from the age of sixteen. She assumed him dead, but was never given any confirmation as no one found his body. She often stayed with her best friend, Alora, as they often moved around the forest to explore and get into trouble. At the age of seventeen, the village was raided and raiders destroyed all of the homes and buildings of commerce and worship around the town. When the attack happened, Arden was across town doing some trading when the attack started. While plenty of the town’s fighters stood up to help, they were no match for the beasts that were used to destroy and kill the townsfolk.

✱   BIO (cont. from left)    She ran to her best friend’s home immediately despite the danger, terrified to find that her “adoptive” parents were dead and her friend was barely alive. In her final few breaths, Alora handed her a leather chain necklace with a unicorn shaped horn on the end, a symbol that her friend had carved in honor of Meilikki. Running away to save her life, Arden finally found shelter after a long couple of days travelling with no stops and reaching a point of exhaustion. As she settled into an abandoned shack that was partially destroyed, she huddled into a corner and listened to the rain fall outside while clutching the necklace from her friend.
 
As she spent the night thinking of her, she soon felt a guiding hand on her shoulder, speaking the words ‘I see you.’ She was filled with a warmth and comfort she had not felt before, though it was tinged with a feeling of cold from what she could only assume were the events of the recent past. As she looked at her shoulder, she swore she could see the vision of Meilikki smiling upon her before her exhaustion took over. When she awoke the next morning and put the necklace on, she found that she soon started to discover abilities that she had not previously had. As she approached a deer that had crossed her path and held up her hands to tell it she meant it no harm, she found it speaking back to her. From that moment on, as she crossed paths with others, she swore to spread the word of Mielikki around the lands to get people to understand the power of her god.
 
Since escaping her town, she has been attempting to get information on the raiders that killed her friends and small village, as well as attempting to search for any information about her father. She assumes her father dead, but never quite gives up hope.

✱   BIO    i am currently writing this in longer detail but tl;dr until it's up: she is a spy working for her house. on behalf of house mizzyrm, she is on a long term mission to spy on potential threats near baldur's gate and report back to her home in the underdark. she is loyal to her house, and therefore in some sense, she is evil as her plans are not for the greater good. she keeps to the shadows and seeks out information and kills who she needs to in order to make that happen.
 
she will 'become friends' with others that will benefit her, and those she can learn skills from. i.e. bards, wizards, and those with proficiency in spymastery, etc.
